The Winterton Care Campaign Group held its AGM in November and is continuing the distribution of Winter Survival Kits. For details contact us via email [email protected] or ring 733441.
At our last meeting, we received donations of £178 from Winterton Medical Practice & £40 from Stuart Maw Santa visits. We are most grateful to have received such support and to see that our work is obviously considered to be so beneficial to our local elderly vulnerable residents.

We must also thank everyone who has donated items to the can scheme at the Winterton Co-op store. The amount donated was far more than last year. We were quite surprised to find 2 large packs of dog food which we were unable to use but we can assure the donor that these items have now found their way to Jerry Green Dog Rescue. Distribution of donated items is under way.
Following the Big Lottery Award of £3685 we have now completed the purchase of equipment and waterproof clothing for our snow clearers. Four red grit bins have been purchased, they are 350 litres in size and labelled as Winterton Care Campaign Group. List of areas to place new bins have been identified but final location of these 4 has to be finalised with the Council.
It is most unfortunate that our efforts to care for this community have been hampered by the actions of some individuals who have targeted grit bins already in place and wasted the supply of much needed grit. It has become obvious to many that Winterton has a lot of anti-social behaviour with a lot of residents unhappy with the situation. Winterton Care Campaign Group has now set up a Public Meeting to be held on Wednesday 9th March 2016 at 7.30pm in Winterton Methodist Church. Matthew Grove, the Police and Crime Commissioner has accepted our invitation to attend and meet with residents to hear their concerns. If you are unable to attend, we will accept questions in writing to be read on the night. Email [email protected] or ring 733441.
Winterton Care Campaign Group is keeping its promise to make Winterton a place where people in advancing years will not fear isolation and loneliness. We should be able to report on our latest project in the next OAAIW issue as for the moment this is “Currently Embargoed”. Watch this space!
